Main AI News:

ADNOC has announced the deployment of RoboWell, AIQ’s pioneering AI-driven autonomous well-control solution, at the NASR offshore field. RoboWell utilizes cloud-based AI algorithms to autonomously manage wells, adapting dynamically to changing conditions. This not only enhances well safety and operational efficiency but also reduces the need for physical interventions and travel, thereby minimizing emissions.

Abdulmunim Saif Al Kindy, ADNOC Upstream Executive Director, emphasized, “The offshore rollout of RoboWell at NASR underscores ADNOC’s strategic use of AI to meet global energy demands responsibly. ADNOC aims to lead as the world’s foremost AI-enabled energy company, embedding AI from the control room to the executive suite to optimize efficiency and move towards autonomous operations. Through our collaboration with AIQ, we harness UAE’s pioneering expertise in energy and AI to redefine the energy future.”

Situated 130 km northwest of Abu Dhabi, NASR represents a fully digital offshore field employing advanced technological solutions to maximize production and minimize environmental impact. Initially deployed across 10 wells at NASR, RoboWell will expand to over 300 wells across ADNOC’s offshore and onshore operations this year.

Dr. Chris Cooper, CEO of AIQ, highlighted, “AIQ integrates AI and machine learning solutions to unlock value across the energy sector’s value chain. RoboWell has demonstrated significant benefits, including up to 30% optimization in gas lift consumption and up to 5% increase in operational efficiency. The expanded deployment of RoboWell marks a transformative milestone for AIQ and ADNOC, leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance resource utilization and operational efficiency.”

Developed in collaboration with ADNOC’s Thamama Excellence Center, RoboWell utilizes big data, digitalization, and smart analytics to access and optimize oil and gas resources from existing reservoirs. Previously deployed at ADNOC’s NEB field in 2023, known as the first “smart field,” RoboWell has pioneered the adoption of leading AI-enabled technologies in the industry.

Conclusion:

The deployment of AIQ’s RoboWell at ADNOC’s NASR field marks a significant advancement in autonomous operations within the energy sector. By integrating AI to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact, ADNOC sets a precedent for leveraging cutting-edge technology to optimize resource management. This move underscores the growing importance of AI in transforming traditional energy operations towards sustainable and efficient practices, positioning companies like AIQ at the forefront of innovation in the global energy market.
